I was browsing through an old\u00a0MacUser\u00a0(16 November 2001) when I came\u00a0across a letter deriding the iPod as another ‘cube’. \u00a0I chortled\u00a0heartily at this, but my laughter froze in my throat as I read the\u00a0next letter on the page. \u00a0It described the iPod as a ‘poxy Rio clone’, ‘a wasted opportunity’ and unable to ‘outperform my minidisc player’.\u00a0Unfortunately the shortsighted fool that wrote the letter was me.<\/p>\n
I’d like to take this opportunity to eat my\u00a0words. I love my ‘poxy Rio clone’. \u00a0Since I bought mine many of my\u00a0friends and family have done so too, and they love theirs as well. \u00a0I\u00a0was wrong, and I apologise for my rudeness to Apple. As for my\u00a0minidisc player, I have no idea where that is. Scrap probably.<\/p>\n
