On all\u00a0these counts, I was wrong. \u00a0Apple knew what it was doing, although I&#8217;m\u00a0still not convinced by the switch to Intel.<\/p>\n<p>This time though, I&#8217;m certain that an own goal has been scored. \u00a0Boot\u00a0Camp, the technology that allows Mac&#8217;s to boot Windows, has to be a\u00a0bad idea.<\/p>\n<p>If a Windows user buys a Mac and then uses it to run Windows, why\u00a0should they ever learn to use and love the Mac?\u00a0If a Mac can run Windows Photoshop, why should Adobe bother to develop\u00a0an Intel native version of Mac Photoshop? \u00a0Why should any developer<br \/>\ndevelop for Intel Mac?\u00a0Finally, Apple is a hardware company that just happens to write an\u00a0operating system. \u00a0If fewer people are using its OS, why should bother\u00a0to spend all that money on continuing development?<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ve been proved wrong in the past. \u00a0I&#8217;m not visionary enough to see\u00a0the wisdom of Apple&#8217;s manoeverings. \u00a0But I wish they&#8217;d stop scaring me\u00a0and right now I&#8217;ve got a sense of impending doom about this.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Deep down, in the depths of my soul, I&#8217;m a luddite. \u00a0I didn&#8217;t like\u00a0PowerPC when Apple first unleashed that on the world. \u00a0I was cold\u00a0about the shift from NuBus. \u00a0OS X seemed to be a disaster.
